OUR CARE INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE ENVIRONMENT

At Ten Textiles, we recognise that the textile industry is one of the largest polluters in the world. Imagine the impact if the whole industry moved towards more sustainable ways! Not only do we want to be a part of that movement, we want to be a step ahead. There is always more to be done, but here is what we are doing at the moment.

It all begins with the yarn.

We select our partners with great care, working only with European suppliers who share our values. By sourcing exclusively from OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100-certified suppliers, we guarantee that our yarn is entirely free from harmful substances right from the start. The yarn in our recycled polyester rib is fully traceable thanks to the Global Recycled Standard that our chosen supplier is certified with. We buy our wool and mulesing-free merino wool from a Woolmark- and Responsible Wool Standard-certified supplier.  Sourcing locally in Europe keeps our transit routes shorter and emissions lower. We are constantly searching for next-generation, energy-efficient fibers and yarns to make our collection even more sustainable.

The world does not need more textile waste.

To fight overproduction and textile waste, our factory operates entirely on an on-demand model with no ready stock. We believe true sustainability begins with durability. That is why we engineer high-quality, wear-resistant fabrics designed to last. The majority of our fabrics use single-fiber compositions, making them significantly easier to recycle. Our product range includes recycled polyester and biodegradable options such as wool and hemp. We are actively working toward a 100% switch to recycled polyester and alternative recycled fibers in the near future.

Sustainable stretch – 0 % elastane

Stretch. Return. Repeat. By unlocking the natural mechanical stretch of rib-knit engineering, we deliver excellent shape retention and a longer garment lifecycle. Not only will it last longer – by not mixing in elastane it is also easier to recycle the textiles at the end of their life. Traditional elastane is highly resource-intensive to produce, non-biodegradable, and notoriously difficult to recycle. We are proud to make you flexible in a more sustainable way.

Powered by 100 % renewable energy.

Our knitting machines run exclusively on clean electricity sourced from solar power plants, wind farms, and hydropower facilities. Currently, our factory operates with a highly efficient annual energy consumption of approximately 25,000 kWh, ensuring our production footprint remains as low as possible.

Dyeing, done responsibly.

While dyeing is a necessary step, we minimise its footprint through smarter processes and strict chemical safety. Most of our product range is yarn- or dope-dyed, reserving conventional dyeing only for our polyester line, where we also have a growing selection of dope-dyed colour options. We are uniquely positioned right next door to the leading dye house in Lithuania. This hyper-local proximity eliminates shipping emissions entirely, while their advanced investments in solar energy and high-tier wastewater management make the entire process more sustainable. All of our fabrics are OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100-certified and REACH-compliant. Furthermore, we reject hazardous chemical finishes: our water-repellent rib fabric relies solely on a non-fluorinated (PFAS-free) treatment, and we achieve fire safety by using inherent flame-resistant fibers instead of chemical coatings.
